This painting explores the relationship between architecture and humans' dominance over, or reliance upon it. People need shelter and beautiful buildings to improve their quality of life and environment, however the tendency to bulldoze over or degrade their built heritage in favour of something more modern, or simply out of carelessness, can impact our relationship with the historic continuity that older buildings offer us.
